We meet all IRS requirements. Our Tax Preparers receive training in the basics of income taxes, they receive practice and testing in preparing income taxes using our proprietary software, ProFiler®, and they must pass a test to prove they understand the basics of taxes before they can prepare income taxes. Additionally, we require two hours of Ethics and Fraud and Prevention training for all tax preparers annually. We offer continuing education annually in tax theory. Most offices also employ Enrolled Agents, individuals who are authorized to practice before the IRS.
There are many Jackson Hewitt Tax Service offices open year-round to help taxpayers understand the ever-changing world of taxes, prepare and file individual income tax returns electronically via IRS e-file, and to deal with all individual income tax concerns. To find an office near you, please use our online office locator at https://office.jacksonhewitt.com/office-locator/ or call us toll free at 1-800-234-1040 and select option 1 to connect you to the nearest office.

To get a copy of your Form W-2 or Form 1099, you should first contact your employer or financial institution. If we used your W-2 to prepare your tax return, though, you have a couple of options. If you have a MyJH account, you can log-in and view your filed tax return including your W-2. If you don’t have a MyJH account, we recommend creating one, but you can also reach out to your local office to request a copy, if available. You can also download Form 4506 at www.irs.gov to request a copy of the return you filed with the IRS which will include your Form W-2 or Form 1099 and other tax documents.
Chat with us online or call our Customer Service number at 1-800-234-1040. A live agent will gather all the necessary information needed to help you file a formal customer service case. The case will be escalated to the local Client Care Manager, and they should contact you within 24 hours.
We offer refund advance loans for a limited time during the tax season each year. We also have exciting deals and offers throughout the year as well as annual sweepstakes contests for chances to win money with Jackson Hewitt. We have helpful resources for when you can expect to get your tax refund.
According to the IRS, if you file a completed and accurate tax return electronically, then you can expect to get your federal refund in less than 3 weeks, and even faster if you’ve chosen direct deposit into your checking account, rather than waiting for a check in the mail. If you’ve filed a paper tax return sent by mail, the federal refund you’re owed will be issued in approximately 6 to 8 weeks (about 2 months) from the date that the IRS receives your completed return.
Need your tax refund money as soon as possible after you file your taxes? Get access to your IRS refund up to 4 days faster* for refunds received Mar 1 - Apr 15 than standard Direct Deposit when you choose to have it deposited on a Serve® American Express® Card.
*Faster access compared to standard tax refund electronic deposit and subject to IRS submitting refund information to the bank before release date. IRS may not submit refund information early.
Yes, Jackson Hewitt can assist you if you’ve been audited or answer any questions you may have. Find the tax help and resources you need online or call or visit your local Tax Pro any time.
Yes, and you will need to have all your tax documents handy to file. Keeping a recent paystub with your tax documents is a good move to make, especially if you are seeking an early advance loan. Also, if you are unable to get your W-2 and it is past February 15, you can use your paystub to file your return. However, you must try to get your W-2 and keep proof of your attempts in your records.
