Jackson Hewitt Tax School - Preparing you to prepare taxes
Register for a tax preparation course and learn how to prepare taxes for yourself and others.
Tax School Overview
Every fall, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service offices across the country open their doors for Tax School, where students can take an income tax preparation course and learn how to prepare individual income tax returns. Some students even go on to find jobs as tax preparers in local Jackson Hewitt offices*.
If you have never prepared taxes before, choose the Jackson Hewitt Basic Income Tax Course, available in three different formats: traditional classroom; computerized classroom; or the online course.
The Basic Income Tax Course is offered in three segments:
Basic Income Tax 1 addresses income tax basics such as IRS e-filing, credits, deductions and filing status.
Basic Income Tax 2 teaches topics such as interest, dividends, capital gains, IRAs, employee business expenses, and other miscellaneous expenses.
If you already have some tax preparation experience or if you are an Enrolled Agent interested in earning Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits, then review our list of Intermediate and Advanced Courses.
Course Fees
Tax preparation courses and fees vary by market. In many cases, tuition is free; you only pay for books and supplies.
